B i o g r a p h y

Robert Todd is a professional musician and low brass instructor with expertise on Bass Trombone, Tenor Trombone and Tuba. He has traveled internationally with the Shen Yun Performing Arts troupe throughout the Pacific Rim with performances in Canada, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand. Performance credits also include appearances as a sideline trombonist in Gangster Squad, a Warner Bros major motion picture.   

 

Originally from Hollywood, California before moving to Santa Clarita in 1991, Robert attended Valencia High School and participated in Jazz America, a summer jazz program conducted by Richard Simon and Roger Neumann. He was selected to march in the 2005 Pasadena Honor Rose Parade Band, and attended California State University, Fullerton where he studied Bass Trombone with Robert Sanders earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Performance. Among many performance credits while in college, two standout achievements were the honor of playing in the 2009 CSU All-State Honor Jazz Band and the 2009 Disneyland All-American College Band. 

 

Robert is currently a member of a number of orchestras and jazz groups around Southern California, including Dana Point Symphony, Corona Symphony, GO Jazz Big Band, The Couto Experience, the Mike Barone Big Band, the Urban Renewal Project and the Santa Clarita Philharmonic. He also works as a freelance musician in the LA and OC areas, and has recorded numerous times for various artist.
